Puppy picking appointments are coming to a close and it’s time to make sure all things are in order before puppy comes home!
By now you should have food, food and water dishes, a safe place for puppy to be enclosed and sleep ( ie: crate and/or exercise pen), a potty spot, a safe place for puppy to play and roam, a few toys, a leash, collar, and ID tag. Please bring leash, collar, and ID tag to your pickup appointment and some kind of seat protector for your car (ie: pee pads/towel or crate if you are crating your dog for the ride). I still will send home a strap harness and seatbelt tether to be attached to harness as a travel option.
Puppy proofing:
If you have not yet puppy proofed your home and yard, please do so! There are many websites that can guide you through. I like the room to room approach here:
This could be a great Saturday family project! The more eyes you have watching out for puppy, the better! The guide will help train your eyes. Anything you miss, puppy will show you!
Toxic plants:
Here is a complete list of Plants toxic and non-toxic to dogs:

Final payment:
If you have not done so yet, please remit final payment so I can complete paperwork ahead of time and transfer ownership to you at your pickup appointment.
AKC registered names:
I am paying for your puppy’s individual AKC registration. Please let me know the complete registered name you would like me to submit, as well as puppy’s “call name” (what you call your puppy).
That’s about it for now!
