What in the world can you do with a 3 day old puppy that will make a difference for their lifetime? A lot, actually. On day 3 of the puppies lives, we started Early Neurological Stimulation. Because they had a relatively uneventful delivery on time, with no unusual other stressors, protocol is that we do ENS between days 3 and 16 of their lives. There is a critical time window for it, and we are game.

ENS stands for Early Neurological Stimulation. ENS is a series of exercises we do with each and every dog in the litter to challenge them physiologically, without overwhelming them. Studies have shown that ENS provides lifelong benefits to the dogs. Dogs who receive ENS (AKA: Bio Sensor Stimulation) during their very early life, show 1) Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate) 2) Stronger heart beats 3) Stronger adrenal glands 4) More tolerance to stress and 5) Greater resistance to disease. There are other benefits that you can read about here:

ENS, AKA: Biosensor Training, was reportedly developed by the military for use in military working dogs. Want to receive a dog that has been primed for high resiliency? We have provided ENS to all of our puppies as a gift to our adoptive families. From our family to yours, with love.

We've made this a family event for the past couple of weeks! It's been a fun way to bond with the puppies and with each other. We've seen them grow leaps and bounds physically and adapt to the exercises very well; a few of the puppies pretty much slept through the exercises last night! Yesterday was day 16 of the puppies lives, so last night was our final ENS date. Now we are just enjoying cuddles with them as we wait for their ears to open and then we will start noise desensitization training!
